About the Role
The Growth Data Science team at Tinder is seeking a Data Scientist II to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in driving data-informed decision-making and will serve as a strategic partner to the Product team. You will leverage comprehensive datasets to develop experiments, understand metrics, create automated reports, and generate exploratory insights that guide our business solutions. These insights are crucial for both the performance of our business and the experience of our members.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive Rigorous Testing: Validate hypotheses and guide business decisions through data-driven insights. Share these insights with product, engineering, and design teams, as well as at a company-wide level.
- Data Storytelling: Use data to challenge and reshape our understanding of customer behavior and business performance. Communicate data-driven recommendations regarding product and marketing initiatives.
- Performance Metrics: Define and operationalize the tracking of company-wide, team-specific, and product-specific performance metrics through dashboards and automated reporting.
What You’ll Need
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field is required. A Master’s degree or PhD with a social science background is preferred.
- Experience: 2-4 years of professional experience in Data Science and/or analytics.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in SQL, data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau or Mode), and A/B testing. Familiarity with Python/R, descriptive and inferential statistics, and machine learning models.
- Business Acumen: Ability to develop a nuanced business understanding and derive significant findings from data.
- Communication Skills: Ability to present data, actionable insights, and technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
