Events Systems Engineer II (Event Production)

Job Description

Amazon is seeking a skilled Events Systems Engineer II to join our Event Production team in New York, NY. This hybrid role involves both the maintenance and operation of production systems during events. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in onsite production support, live event engineering, and systems management.

Responsibilities

Production Engineering: Design, program, and operate live events, ranging from meetings to concerts. Demonstrate deep systems knowledge and maintain focus under pressure.
Systems Engineering: Manage large production overhaul and maintenance projects. Troubleshoot and evaluate risks efficiently to provide optimal solutions.
Technical Leadership: Communicate promptly and professionally with team members, customers, and business partners. Engage with the production team to improve processes and contribute as a subject matter expert in audio/visual production.

Pre-event

Set up and coordinate technical systems for events.
Recommend technical resource scheduling for equipment and labor.
Test equipment thoroughly ahead of events.

Event Execution

Provide operational technical services for events.
Optimize systems for the best quality.
Lead vendor engineers when required.
Adapt to client needs and changes dynamically.

Post-event

Assist with the dismantling of event spaces, ensuring proper equipment handling and storage.
Participate in post-event feedback discussions.

Key Job Responsibilities

Ensure the health and success of all production equipment within the venue.
Operate and ensure the success of each event.
Collaborate with System Engineers and Production Engineers to maintain high-quality systems and procedures.

A Day in the Life

Maintain a weekly schedule for standard maintenance.
Plan and execute events with onsite coordinators and producers.
Coordinate additional staffing with third-party vendors.
Communicate regularly with team members to stay connected.

Basic Qualifications

4+ years of networking experience (DNS, DHCP, SSL, OSI Model, TCP/IP).
3+ years of experience with Windows Server technologies (AD, DFS, Print Services, SCCM).
4+ years of technical support experience.
4+ years of experience supporting Windows, Mac, or Linux operating systems in a corporate setting.
Bachelor's degree in IT, computer science, or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

3+ years of experience supporting a Windows server environment.
Experience supporting video conference and teleconference equipment.

Compensation

The base pay for this position ranges from €54,700 to €122,200 per year, depending on market location and job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Additional compensation may include equity, sign-on payments, and other benefits.
