As a Full Stack Associate Developer, you will be responsible for leveraging cutting-edge technology to solve business problems at American Airlines. You will participate in all phases of the development process from inception through transition, advocating the agile process and test-driven development. You will use object-oriented development tools to analyze, model, design, construct, and test reusable objects, and improve the codebase.

What You'll Do

  • Collaborate with leaders, business analysts, project managers, IT architects, technical leads, and other developers, along with internal customers, to understand needs and develop solutions according to business requirements.
  • Maintain and enhance existing enterprise services, applications, and platforms using domain-driven design and test-driven development.
  • Troubleshoot and debug complex issues; identify and implement solutions.
  • Assist with the creation of detailed project specifications, requirements, and estimates; ensure tasks and projects are completed on time and within scope.
  • Work with software architects to ensure decisions meet long-term enterprise growth needs.
  • Support the development of coding standards and adhere to best practices and security guidelines.
  • Research and implement new technologies to enhance current processes, security, and performance.

All You'll Need for Success

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering, or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training.
  • 2 years of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) experience.
  • 2 years of application development experience, including Java SE and Java EE experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of Java, Spring, Hibernate, HTML, XML, JavaScript, UNIX/Linux, and object-oriented methodologies.
  • Knowledge of UI technologies and frameworks (e.g., HTML5, CSS, LESS, AngularJS, ReactJS).
  • In-depth knowledge of the JEE platform and supporting technologies such as JAXP, JMS, JDBC.
  • Familiarity with Relational Databases such as Oracle or SQL Server.
  • Experience consuming Web Services and implementing Web Services; familiarity with messaging and SOA technologies; knowledge of general architecture principles.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Airline industry experience, including business processes and supporting technology.
  • Familiarity with software configuration management/build processes.
  • Experience with Cloud technologies.
  • Experience in implementing data analytics solutions in Azure.
  • Experience with Big Data BI solutions including Hadoop (HDInsight/Spark), Azure SQL DW, etc.
  • Experience in programming utilizing C#, Python, JavaScript, or similar languages.
  • Experience in predictive analytics (especially Azure ML).
