About the Role

Join Agoda as a Senior Software Engineer – Back End (FinTech) and be part of a dynamic team that is at the forefront of financial technology innovation. Based in Bangkok, this role offers relocation support for the right candidate. You will be instrumental in developing robust backend systems and architecting scalable data pipelines that support complex data collection, processing, and analysis.

Key Responsibilities

Full Product Lifecycle Ownership: Engage in all stages of the product lifecycle, from gathering business requirements to technology selection, coding standards, agile development, testing, and continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD).
Platform and Data Pipeline Development: Design, develop, and maintain platforms and data pipelines that enhance our fintech capabilities.
System Performance Optimization: Build stable, scalable, and high-performance systems to meet the dynamic demands of the financial landscape.
Mentorship and Collaboration: Write high-quality code and mentor team members. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive product and technology goals.
Leadership and Innovation: Inspire innovation and drive vision into reality, playing a pivotal role in recruiting and onboarding exceptional talent.

What You’ll Need

Experience: 5+ years of experience with strong proficiency in Java, Kotlin, Scala, or C#.
Technical Skills: Proven track record with big data technologies like Hadoop and real-time processing frameworks such as Apache Spark. Advanced knowledge of SQL and data architecture.
Problem Solving: Exceptional problem-solving skills with a strategic mindset.
Agile Methodologies: Experience with Scrum/Agile development methodologies.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
Operational Excellence: Deep understanding of metrics, alarms, and dashboards.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in a modern FinTech or Payments organization.
Domain knowledge in financial reconciliation, reporting, tax, or payout methods.
Hands-on experience with technologies like Spark, ETLs, and queueing systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ).
Familiarity with core engineering infrastructure tools like GitLab and Kubernetes.
Experience in leading projects or teams with full ownership of the systems involved.
