Join Agoda as a Lead Software Engineer – Back End in our rapidly expanding FinTech team. Based in Bangkok, this role offers relocation support for the right candidate. You will be at the forefront of developing robust backend systems and architecting scalable data pipelines that support complex data collection, processing, and analysis. Your expertise will be crucial in optimizing our financial technology solutions and driving informed business decisions through reliable data insights.

Key Responsibilities

Full Product Lifecycle Ownership: Engage in all stages of product development, from gathering business requirements to technology selection, coding standards, agile development, testing, CI/CD, and monitoring.
Platform and Data Pipeline Development: Design, develop, and maintain platforms and data pipelines across our FinTech domain.
System Performance Optimization: Build stable, scalable, and high-performance systems to meet the dynamic demands of the financial landscape.
Mentorship and Collaboration: Write excellent code and mentor team members. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive product and technology goals.
Leadership and Innovation: Inspire innovation and drive vision into reality, playing a pivotal role in recruiting and onboarding exceptional talent.

What You’ll Need

Experience: 10+ years of experience with strong proficiency in Java, Kotlin, Scala, or C#.
Big Data Expertise: Experience with Hadoop, real-time processing frameworks like Apache Spark, and advanced SQL and data architecture knowledge.
Agile Methodologies: Experience with Scrum/Agile development methodologies.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
Operational Excellence: Deep understanding of metrics, alarms, and dashboards.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in a modern FinTech or Payments organization.
Domain knowledge in financial reconciliation, reporting, tax, or payout methods.
Hands-on experience with Spark, ETLs, and queueing systems like Kafka or RabbitMQ.
Familiarity with core engineering infrastructure tools like GitLab and Kubernetes.
Experience in leading projects or teams with full ownership of the systems involved.
