Job Summary
Join Southwest Airlines as a Marketing Data Scientist and play a pivotal role in connecting people to what’s important in their lives through friendly, reliable, and low-cost air travel. As a Marketing Data Scientist, you will assist the Customer Organization in increasing revenue, driving loyalty, and improving growth by attracting, growing, supporting, and retaining customers using data science techniques and advanced analytics.
Responsibilities
- Drive moderate to complex data science, machine learning, artificial intelligence, or optimization projects.
- Work with stakeholders to understand contextual problems quickly and define, analyze, and deliver solutions based on business objectives.
- Apply math, statistics, and modeling methods to create solutions for descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive analytics.
- Support the ongoing effectiveness of models in use by stakeholders.
- Formulate and communicate solutions for data analysis and models.
- Collaborate with and contribute to the Southwest Airlines data science community.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Intermediate knowledge of statistics and math concepts.
- Intermediate knowledge of descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive statistical methods.
- Knowledge of data science project life cycle including engaging stakeholders to define the problem, solution definition, project planning, and executing per plan.
- Skilled in compiling, cleaning, transforming, analyzing, and visualizing large-scale data.
- Skilled in statistical and scripting programming languages.
- Ability to communicate in an engaging way with strong verbal and written communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
Education and Experience
- Required: Bachelor's Degree.
- Advanced level experience in mathematics and statistics principles and techniques, data pipeline, data science, and/or relevant programming (Python, SQL, etc.).
- Experience in data analysis, advanced analytics, data science, machine learning, artificial intelligence, or optimization projects.
Additional Details
- This is a hybrid position based out of our Corporate Campus in Dallas, TX, requiring on-site work at least three days a week.
- U.S. citizenship or current authorization to work in the U.S. required.
- Competitive market salary from €131,000 to €145,500 per year, with additional bonus opportunities.
