Overview
We are seeking a Senior AWS Cloud Developer to join our innovative team at ION, a leader in trading and workflow automation software. This role is based in New York and offers a hybrid work environment, blending on-site and remote work. The position involves re-platforming applications from on-premises to AWS cloud services, enhancing our client's capabilities in the financial services sector.
Responsibilities
- Cloud Migration: Lead the migration of applications from on-premises infrastructure to AWS, ensuring seamless transitions and optimized performance.
- Software Development: Develop products and services using the latest technologies, contributing to all phases from requirement analysis to deployment.
- Problem Solving: Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues, partnering with business units to align technology solutions with business goals.
- Code Quality: Participate actively in code reviews and maintain high standards of code quality through automated testing and continuous integration.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with team members and stakeholders to foster a collaborative environment and deliver high-quality software solutions.
Qualifications
- Expertise in Java and AWS: Demonstrable experience with Java, AWS services, and cloud-native application development.
- Software Engineering Skills: Strong background in software engineering principles, including experience with microservices, Spring Boot, and Spring Cloud.
- Problem-Solving Abilities: Excellent analytical skills and the ability to solve complex technical problems.
- Communication Skills: Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
Additional Skills
- Python programming, CI/CD pipelines, shell scripting, and familiarity with cloud infrastructure provisioning tools like Terraform are highly desirable.
- Experience with Docker, SQL queries, and AWS specific services like Fargate, S3, Lambda, and IAM.
