Join Our Team as a Senior Java Backend Engineer

Holidu is seeking a talented Senior Java Backend Engineer to join our Guest Experience department in Munich, Germany. As a key member of one of our six teams, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the user journey from the initial attraction of users through to the booking process and beyond.

Your Role

• Ownership: You will own the entire backend journey of users in your team, from ideation to release and monitoring.
• Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, designers, and frontend developers to implement and improve our products.
• Innovation: You will have the freedom to implement your ideas and contribute to the architecture and high-performance delivery of our website.

Our Tech Stack

• Languages: Java 17/21 and Kotlin
• Frameworks: Spring Boot
• Infrastructure: Microservices deployed on AWS-hosted Kubernetes cluster (EKS)
• Data Storage: PostgreSQL, Redis, Elasticsearch 7, Redshift, Kafka, MongoDB
• Tools: AWS, Docker, Jenkins, Git
• Monitoring: ELK, Grafana, Looker

What We Are Looking For

• Experience: 5+ years in professional development with Java/Kotlin.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in modern application frameworks, relational databases, and cloud deployment.
• API Development: Expertise in developing RESTful APIs.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills and the ability to work independently and in a team.
• Passion: A genuine love for coding and building high-quality products.
• Learning: Motivation to learn and experiment with modern technologies.
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
