About the Role
The Foundations Alliance at HelloFresh is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to join our team in Berlin. This role is pivotal in building and maintaining the tools and infrastructure that empower our engineering teams across the company. As a Platform Engineer, you will be responsible for creating highly available, secure, and efficient platforms for frontend, backend, and mobile engineers, ensuring adherence to operational and engineering best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and Build Infrastructure: Develop infrastructure automation at scale for over 1000 engineers using tools like Terraform and Helm.
- Maintain Kubernetes Clusters: Build and maintain fault-tolerant and highly available Kubernetes clusters.
- Drive Operational Excellence: Improve deployment frequency, lead time to change, change failure rate, and mean time to restore metrics.
- Consult and Educate: Provide guidance and education to engineers on cloud infrastructure and software engineering best practices.
What You’ll Bring
- Experience: Proven experience in building production-scale backend services, CLI tools, or infrastructural components such as Kubernetes operators, preferably in Go or Python.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Cloud Platforms: Familiarity with at least one cloud platform (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP) and its services.
- Infrastructure as Code: Strong knowledge of infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform.
- Communication: Excellent asynchronous communication and collaboration skills.
