Mid/Senior Backend Engineer (Go)

About the Role

Vinted is seeking a Mid/Senior Backend Engineer with expertise in Go to join our Transactional Experience team. This role is pivotal in ensuring a seamless transactional experience for our members. As a backend engineer, you will be responsible for implementing business logic and writing APIs that our mobile and web platforms can use. You will also contribute to growing our backend platform to handle a wider scale.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with the team to enhance our members' experiences, focusing on pricing and discounts.
Contribute to the development of new services and drive significant changes.
Apply Agile and Lean principles in your work.
Collaborate with other developers through GitHub pull requests and code reviews.
Write unit tests (RSpec) for all of the code you write.
Work with one of the biggest Ruby on Rails codebases in the world, MySQL, Memcached, Elasticsearch, and many more technologies.
Break down large monoliths into smaller, manageable components and services.
Craft code that can handle more than 2M requests per minute and calculate prices up to 10000 times per second.
Monitor your deployed code through Kibana, Grafana, DataDog.
Own SLIs/SLOs in the product team.
Effectively partner across teams to prioritize and deliver results.

About You

Experience in designing and implementing RESTful services.
Ability to architect robust APIs that deliver seamless experiences to users.
Proficiency in Go and a passion for building scalable and efficient backend systems.
Willingness to learn and master new technologies and concepts.
Familiarity with Software Engineering, Distributed Systems, Systems Architecture, Service Oriented Architecture, and Event-driven architecture.
Understanding of enterprise architecture patterns, (micro)services, and their pros/cons.
Strong team player with the ability to engage in constructive and healthy conflict.
