Senior Backend Python Engineer

About the Role

Podium is seeking a talented Senior Backend Python Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about building agentic applications using large language models (LLMs) to empower local businesses. You will be part of a team dedicated to creating AI agents that streamline customer interactions, optimize operations, and reclaim valuable time for our clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and Deploy AI Applications: You will be responsible for developing and deploying advanced AI applications powered by large language models. These applications will help local businesses automate interactions and manage leads more efficiently.

• Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with various teams to drive the entire lifecycle of AI application development, from conception and design to implementation and maintenance.

• Engage in Rapid Prototyping: Participate in rapid prototyping and iterative development to refine AI solutions based on real-world performance and feedback.

• Implement Monitoring Systems: Set up monitoring and evaluation systems to track the effectiveness of AI applications in production, ensuring high reliability and user satisfaction.

• Contribute to Innovation: Stay current with industry trends in AI and apply cutting-edge research to practical business solutions.

Required Skills and Experience

• 5+ Years of Programming Experience: Extensive hands-on experience with a modern programming language such as Python, Go, or Elixir, with proficiency in Python being essential.

• Quality Assurance: A disciplined approach to testing and quality assurance is crucial.

• Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team setting.

• Problem Solving: Ability to solve ambiguous problems and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Distributed Systems: 5+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design of large-scale distributed systems, preferably in a hyper-growth SaaS setting.

• Writing Abilities: Exceptional writing abilities with the capacity to craft and optimize prompts for generative AI models.

• Interest in AI Advancements: A keen interest in staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in AI and applying them to real-world problems.
