About the Role
Discord is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join our Data+ML team, focusing on our unique advertising product, Quests. This role is pivotal in enhancing our Quests product, which rewards users for engaging with their favorite games. As a Senior Data Scientist, you will partner closely with our Product and Business teams to conduct analyses, run experiments, and build tools that improve the Quests experience for both users and game developers.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with Product & Business Teams: Collaborate throughout the full lifecycle of our marketing solutions, from ideation and exploratory analysis to running experiments and building dashboards.
- Define Metrics: Develop metrics to understand Quest campaign performance and identify areas for improvement. Create easy-to-use dashboards that provide timely and actionable information.
- Generate Insights: Proactively generate and share insights and recommendations with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Collaborate with Teams: Work closely with data science, machine learning, and engineering teams to enhance Quests-related capabilities like instrumentation and targeting.
- Leverage A/B Testing: Use A/B testing to continuously iterate and improve the Quests experience.
Required Skills and Experience
- 4+ Years in Analytics: Experience in marketing solutions and advertising, translating ambiguous business problems into actionable insights.
- Dashboard Development: 4+ years of experience building dashboards using Tableau, Looker, or similar software, with proficiency in designing intuitive visualizations.
- SQL and Python: 3+ years of experience writing excellent SQL and Python code.
- Communication Skills: Strong ability to translate complex findings or technical approaches into easy-to-understand formats.
- A/B Testing: 2+ years of experience in the design, analysis, and interpretation of A/B tests for large-scale user products.
Bonus Points
- Passion for Discord and/or gaming.
- Experience with writing production ETL.
- Experience with analytics for social media or international subscription-based online services.
Compensation
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $183,000 - $201,500, plus equity and benefits. Individual pay is determined by additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
