About the Role
As a Senior Software Engineer in the Ad Measurement team at Discord, you will be pivotal in designing, building, and maintaining systems that measure the impact of paid promotions. This includes handling impressions, clicks, and attribution. You will collaborate with other engineers and teams such as Data Platform to understand requirements and build systems that meet these needs. You will be a founding member of an important company initiative aimed at substantial revenue growth.
Responsibilities
- Design and build systems for accurate data collection and real-time reporting.
- Solve complex problems in high-volume data collection, reporting, budget pacing, and frequency capping.
- Partner with stakeholders to define problems and build scalable and reliable infrastructure.
- Own projects end-to-end, from refining requirements with Product to creating technical designs, implementing changes, and ensuring successful launch and maintenance.
What You Should Have
- 5+ years of software engineering experience, preferably in backend technologies like Python, Rust, and Elixir.
- Experience with systems such as Flink, PubSub, Pulsar, and Airflow.
- Familiarity with database design, querying, and data caching.
- Experience with cloud environments like GCS and tools like Datadog.
- A strong understanding of data and infrastructure, with a knack for digging into datasets to validate data and algorithms.
Bonus Points
- Experience in ad tech, especially in ad campaign performance measurement, budget forecasting, and pricing models.
