About the Role
Discord is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our newly formed Leverage Engineering team. This team is dedicated to enhancing the productivity and efficiency of all Discord employees by developing innovative tools and solutions. As a founding member, you will have the opportunity to shape the direction of the team and the products we build.
Key Responsibilities
- Product Development Lifecycle: Own the full product development lifecycle for new internal infrastructure and product experiences from end-to-end.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with internal stakeholders to understand their challenges and design solutions to address them.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with a cross-functional team of engineers, product managers, designers, and operations to create cutting-edge products.
- Innovative Solutions: Leverage LLMs and other ML/AI products to develop new and exciting products that enhance collaboration and productivity.
- Technical Development: Build APIs, set up infrastructure, design UIs, and develop Discord bots that integrate with third-party products.
Qualifications
- Technical Proficiency: Strong skills in JavaScript, TypeScript, React, and other web technologies. Proficiency in a backend language, preferably Python.
- Database Experience: Experience with relational databases such as Sqlite, Postgres, and BigQuery.
- Cloud Technologies: Familiarity with cloud services, particularly in GCP or AWS.
- AI/ML Interest: A keen interest in AI, ML, and LLMs.
- Fast-Paced Environment: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with loosely defined tasks and competing priorities.
Bonus Points
- ML/AI Experience: Direct experience with ML/AI technologies.
- UI Design: An eye for elegant UI design.
- Discord Bots: Experience building Discord bots or other chat-based applications.
