Overview
Join Atlassian's team at Loom as a Senior Software Engineer, focusing on Media & Intelligence. This role is pivotal in leading the development of asynchronous video messaging technologies. Atlassian, having acquired Loom, is at the forefront of innovation in remote collaboration. This position offers the flexibility to work remotely or from any of Atlassian's US offices.
Responsibilities
- Build server-side and client-side infrastructure for video messaging products.
- Design and implement media features that enhance user experience and differentiate Loom’s offerings.
- Maintain high standards of engineering excellence, ensuring the performance and reliability of media infrastructure.
- Diagnose and improve the quality of the video experience across platforms.
- Display strong ownership and influence over the team's roadmap.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in software development, with a focus on distributed systems.
- Proficiency in backend technologies and service architectures.
- Strong understanding of database technologies and data modeling.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to handle complex issues in a distributed environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with media streaming platforms and related technologies.
- Knowledge of mainstream media codecs and container formats (VP8/x264/AAC/HLS etc.).
- Experience with FFmpeg filters or APIs.
