Senior DevOps Engineer

As a Senior DevOps Engineer at Catena Media, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our microservices, websites, and CDN services are lightning-fast, resilient, scalable, and efficient with stellar uptime records. Your primary focus will be on the strategic improvement of our systems' health, performance, and reliability. You will work closely with our Enterprise Architect and various technical teams to design and implement new technologies and stacks.

Key Responsibilities

Act as a subject matter expert on our microservices, databases, and sites, ensuring they are resilient, secure, and scalable.
Drive performance changes and challenge the status quo to continuously improve processes.
Create automatic problem detection and resolution procedures.
Troubleshoot issues across the entire stack, from low system level to application level.
Collaborate with development and architecture teams to ensure efficient and scalable changes are continuously built, tested, and deployed.
Drive standardization efforts across multiple disciplines and services.
Evangelize an automation-first approach and automate repetitive tasks.
Manage timely resolution of all critical and/or complex problems, meeting SLA requirements.
Collaborate with stakeholders to increase the efficiency of production deployments and reduce friction.
Develop, configure, and optimize service and application monitoring.
Mentor and coach other members of the DevOps team.

Required Skills and Experience

Strong focus on efficiency, performance, and scalability.
Experience with system design, ensuring systems are structured, secure, and scalable.
Passion for automation and experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Salt, Puppet, and Terraform.
Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration technologies like Kubernetes.
Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP.
Comfortable with CI/CD pipelines and tools like Jenkins and Git.
Profound experience with Linux-based operating systems and LAMP/LEMP stacks.
Understanding of TCP and UDP networking stacks.
Enthusiast for optimum performance within the use of the HTTP Protocol.
Experience with monitoring and alerting tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Dynatrace, Pingdom, and OpsGenie.
Good understanding of database administration (MySQL, MongoDB).
Experience in one or more of the following: Python, Go, Perl, Ruby, shell scripting, with Python being favored.
Comfortable working on an on-call basis.
