Job Overview
Catena Media is seeking a Web Development Manager to lead our web development teams and manage all aspects of WordPress development projects. This role is pivotal in ensuring the delivery of high-quality websites by overseeing the design, development, and maintenance of WordPress sites. The ideal candidate will coordinate with stakeholders and implement best practices to optimize website performance, security, and user experience.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership
- Offer technical leadership and insight on WordPress development best practices.
- Stay updated on the latest WordPress trends, technologies, and tools to ensure the use of cutting-edge solutions.
- Implement and oversee rigorous testing processes to ensure the stability, security, and performance of WordPress websites.
Team Management
- Coach, mentor, and elevate team members to excel in their roles, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
- Manage a geographically diverse team, ensuring streamlined communication and coordination, especially with outsourcing partners.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide professional development opportunities.
Collaboration
- Collaborate with project and product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to define project requirements and goals.
- Work with cross-functional teams to integrate WordPress solutions with other systems and platforms.
- Collaborate with the Director of Engineering on both technical and organizational strategies.
Documentation and Communication
- Document technical processes and workflows for enhanced team productivity.
- Ensure transparent and effective communication across all levels.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Web Development Manager or similar role, with a strong focus on WordPress.
- Strong understanding of web standards, accessibility, and SEO best practices.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Experience with setting and tracking OKRs.
- Proficiency with GIT for version control.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools and methodologies.
- Experience with container technologies like Docker.
- Knowledge of database solutions, specifically MySQL (familiarity with MongoDB is a plus).
- Previous experience in an affiliate marketing or lead generation organization would be advantageous.
Work Environment
This position offers a hybrid work environment, allowing for both on-site and off-site work. Flexible hours are needed to interact with stakeholders in North America.
