Join Our Team as a Senior Java Backend Developer

Holidu is seeking a talented Senior Java Backend Developer to join our dynamic team in the Guest Experience department. As part of the Ranking team, you will play a crucial role in refining how we rank our Holidu properties for both new and returning users. You will be responsible for productionizing various ML models built by our data scientists and building highly reliable user-facing APIs for other parts of our website.

Your Role

• Design and Implement Backend Services: Collaborate with your team to design, implement, evolve, and maintain our backend services.
• End-to-End Development: Be involved in the entire software development process from ideation to release and monitoring.
• Feature Delivery: Take full responsibility for delivering features that impact 100 million users annually.
• API Development: Focus on delivering clear, well-designed, highly available APIs for user-facing clients.
• Scalability: Ensure all systems and processes are scalable.
• Leadership: Lead strategic team-driven projects, mentor engineers, and participate in the hiring process.
• Collaboration: Work closely with product management and engineering managers to define team goals and priorities.
• Cloud Integration: Design solutions, provision resources, and integrate applications directly with AWS.
• Elasticsearch Management: Work with our self-maintained Elasticsearch cluster and Terraform internals.

Your Skills and Experience

• Java Expertise: 5+ years of professional development experience in Java.
• Spring Boot: Experience developing web (micro)services with Spring Boot.
• Cloud Deployment: Experience deploying applications in a cloud environment.
• REST APIs: Expertise in designing and developing highly structured RESTful APIs.
• Data Optimization: Experience optimizing data delivery for speed and memory footprint over REST APIs.
• Concurrent Processes: Experience managing critical concurrent processes.
• Additional Technologies: Experience with Airflow, DBT, and/or Looker is a plus.
