Senior Java Software Developer

Job Overview

Join SAS as a Senior Java Software Developer and be part of our Customer Intelligence R&D team. We are looking for a talented developer to work on our newest Customer Journeys offering. This is a full SaaS, value stream aligned team orchestrating work in multiple development layers from UI to mid-service layer down to cloud database and eventing. This role offers the opportunity to try new things, experiment, grow, and quickly incorporate customer feedback through rapid deployment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop high-quality, testable, and scalable software solutions within established timelines while adhering to CI360 best practices and processes.
• Ensure solutions meet the highest data security guidelines and are consistent with R&D standards.
• Participate in project scoping and scheduling; track progress of individual tasks and alert stakeholders of issues blocking or preventing completion of tasks.
• Ensure quality through functional, unit, and performance testing.
• Maintain accountability for the entire life cycle of the code including support for both internal and external consumers.
• Ensure all applicable security policies and processes are followed to support the organization’s secure software development goals.

Required Qualifications

• 5 or more years of experience developing enterprise-level solutions.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent combination of related education, training, and experience.
• Demonstrable experience with the Java programming language.
• Familiarity with microservices and/or data processing systems.
• Experience with Amazon Web Services, or similar cloud offerings.
• Strong testing automation experience, preferably in unit frameworks.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building DevOps-enabled software solutions.
• Experience with container management systems, such as Kubernetes.
• Experience building streaming data processing systems such as Kafka.
• Usage of Git, GitHub, GitLab, and/or Jenkins.
• Experience with the Python programming language.
• Thorough knowledge of additional AWS services (Lambda, Step Functions, ECR/ECS, SQS, SNS, OpenSearch, DynamoDB, etc.).
