The Role
As a Senior Library Software Engineer at Datadog, you will be at the forefront of shaping the capabilities of our Node.js library, which is pivotal for our Application Security Management (ASM) platform. This role involves deep technical challenges and requires a robust understanding of Node.js and its ecosystem.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the Node.js library used across thousands of applications worldwide.
- Collaborate with other engineering teams to integrate ASM features such as HTTP, GraphQL, and gRPC security monitoring.
- Advocate for best practices in library development and open-source community engagement.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of our software development processes.
What You'll Do
- Write clean, maintainable code that matches our high standards.
- Participate in code reviews, ensuring best practices in software development.
- Engage with the Node.js community, representing Datadog at conferences and meetups.
- Work closely with the product team to define and implement new features.
- Help mentor junior developers, guiding them in their professional growth.
Who You Are
- Experienced with Node.js, and familiar with its internals and performance optimization.
- Skilled in using Node.js frameworks like Express.js and Next.js, and testing frameworks like Mocha.
- Knowledgeable about modern software practices, including CI/CD, version control, and automated testing.
- A proactive communicator, capable of explaining complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Passionate about technology and open-source software.
