About the Role
The API Clients team at Datadog is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to lead and mentor a team while contributing to our multi-language client SDKs. This role involves maintaining public and internal client libraries and SDKs, managing the code generation pipeline, and working closely with product teams on API specification changes.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of Software Engineers.
- Contribute to our generated multi-language client SDKs, written in Go, Java, TypeScript, Python, and Ruby.
- Identify opportunities for automation of manual processes around API specification and code generation.
- Design and build tooling and processes to deliver multi-language client generation internally to Datadog engineers.
- Work closely with product teams to streamline release of API and documentation changes.
- Help define API standards and build tooling for maintaining these standards across all of Datadog.
Who You Are
- You have 5+ years of experience contributing to a software engineering team.
- You are knowledgeable about web frameworks, libraries, and open source frameworks.
- You have experience with building and maintaining APIs.
- You care about the developer experience and continually strive to drive improvements.
