About the Role
As a Senior Software Engineer in the Cloud Platforms - Observability team at Datadog, you will be pivotal in building Infrastructure Monitoring products. This role serves as the API to the Clouds for Datadog and our customers, acting as the ingestion point for all telemetry data from Cloud or SaaS providers. You will collaborate with Cloud Providers to develop features and integrations that benefit our mutual customers.
What You’ll Do
- Design, implement, and share ownership of cloud integrations.
- Work with Product and Engineering leadership to design, implement, and deliver the next generation of Cloud Observability products at Datadog.
- Assist in efforts to reduce toil, automate mechanical processes, and move code to config; all in service of freeing Engineering time to invest in new product development.
Who You Are
- Self-motivated, self-starter builder who takes pride in solving problems for your customers.
- Able to identify customer needs and pain points proactively.
- 4+ years of experience in backend engineering, preferably using Python or Go.
- Experience working with or on cloud computing.
- BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
Bonus Points For
- Experience with Golang concurrency concepts.
- Leadership skills in project management and mentorship.
- Experience using or integrating with a cloud provider observability API (e.g., AWS CloudWatch, Google Operations, Azure Monitor).
- Experience building integrations at scale.
