About the Role
Arctic Wolf is seeking a Senior Platform & Infrastructure Developer to join our expanding Infrastructure teams. This role is pivotal in designing, developing, and maintaining solutions that enable other R&D teams to deploy, run, and support their workloads efficiently through the full lifecycle, from pre-production to live service and upgrades.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Platform Engineering team to enhance workload provisioning, maintenance, upgrades, and decommissioning processes.
- Develop microservices that operate in the maintenance or operations plane, ensuring team members can troubleshoot and contribute effectively.
- Advocate for Infrastructure as Code and continuous deployment/delivery practices.
- Design and implement solutions for automated remediation and actionable data extraction from production systems.
- Review and improve how R&D teams provision and use managed cloud resources, ensuring these resources are defined and controlled as code.
- Research new technologies and conduct proof-of-concept work to enhance capabilities and reduce costs.
- Continuously improve platform security, working across teams to implement least-privilege access and other security measures.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Extensive experience in designing, building, and maintaining scalable, highly-available production-grade workloads.
- Proficiency in infrastructure-as-code tools like CloudFormation, Terraform, and CDK.
- Strong software development skills in languages such as Python, Go, Ruby, Java, or JavaScript.
- Experience with core AWS technologies including EC2, S3, Route 53, CloudWatch, and IAM.
- Familiarity with containers and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with configuration management tools like Chef, Puppet, or Ansible.
- Strong understanding of observability, monitoring, metrics, and alerting tools like Prometheus, Thanos, AlertManager, and Grafana.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with multiple R&D teams and management.
Additional Skills
- Experience with Linux variants such as Ubuntu or Amazon Linux.
- Networking knowledge, including on-premises and AWS VPC concepts.
