The Opportunity – Senior Platform Engineer I

Wrapbook is looking for a Senior Platform Engineer I who will play a hands-on role in driving our mission to build an outstanding technology company. You will be working as part of a cross-functional team, collaborating with product, security, and analytics engineers to build and strengthen our internal developer and data platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design and build new tools to automate the software release process.
• Improve the monitoring of our systems by identifying gaps and/or inefficiencies and proposing solutions.
• Work closely with other platform engineers, product developers, and analytics engineers to find, define, and resolve performance and scalability bottlenecks.
• Plan the growth of Wrapbook’s infrastructure.
• Participate in on-call rotation to respond to incidents that impact Wrapbook’s availability and provide support for product engineers with customer incidents.
• Use your on-call shift to prevent recurrence of incidents.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of infrastructure technologies such as virtualization, containerization, and cloud computing.
• Experience running applications at scale in Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with Linux/Unix operating systems.
• Grasp on networking principles and protocols.
• Experience with infrastructure automation and configuration management tools.
• Experience handling critical incidents for production systems.
• Experience working with product and data engineering teams.
• Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, Ruby, or Bash. Experience with Go is a plus.

Nice to Have

• Experience with RDMS such as PostgreSQL.
• Experience with document-oriented databases such as Elasticsearch.
• Experience with data warehousing tools, techniques, and practices.
