Role Overview

As a Senior Platform Engineer, you will be responsible for building and maintaining a robust platform that enhances software delivery efficiency using state-of-the-art practices and tools. Your role will directly impact Orbem’s core operations by enabling various teams, such as Data, Machine Learning, and Software, to perform at their best. You will create a scalable and resilient infrastructure that facilitates their workflows while maintaining Orbem’s complex production environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Communicate with different teams to understand and implement their delivery and automation needs.
• Manage and automate our cloud, on-prem, and edge infrastructure with Infrastructure as Code.
• Ensure the availability of our Cloud services and Edge devices to our customers.
• Oversee the provision and operation of applications in the Cloud via DevSecOps and take responsibility for going live.
• Enable suitable infrastructure to reliably monitor our product.
• Improve CI/CD pipelines and tools to accelerate, automate, and optimize our software development processes.

Required Skills and Experience

• Deep understanding of cloud technologies with hands-on experience across various platforms.
• Proficiency in Terraform and extensive knowledge of Kubernetes.
• Experience working in Linux-based systems and fluency in at least one programming language.
• Applied Continuous Delivery practices and experience with GitOps tools like ArgoCD.
• Experience with GitLab CI/CD.

What Sets You Apart

• Experience with GoLang and expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Knowledge of building data pipelines and understanding data workflows.
• Experience in DevSecOps and security hardening.
• Familiarity with Ansible and/or Packer.
• Understanding of microservice architectures and monitoring tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.
• Passionate about network concepts, VPN tunnels, DNS, and routing.
