About the Role
As a Mid-Level Platform Engineer at Moss, you will be integral to our team, focusing on the Cloud Platform, Observability, Reliability, Scalability, and Availability of the Moss system. You will play a crucial role in building CI/CD workflows and simplifying the complexities of the Cloud to enable product engineers to focus on enhancing user experience. Our modern and stable system is built with industry best practices and features heavy automation, currently eliminating the need for on-call rotations.
Responsibilities
- Cloud Platform Ownership: Manage Moss's cloud environment using infrastructure-as-code practices, particularly Terraform, to set up and manage access to various services.
- Collaboration with Product Engineers: Assist in deploying new microservices to Kubernetes and managing key services like Kafka and databases.
- Pipeline Management: Oversee CI/CD pipelines to ensure consistent development workflows and secure code deployments.
- Monitoring and System Administration: Work directly on the observability stack and manage the network infrastructure including DNS, routing, and firewalls.
About You
- Technical Expertise: Experience with distributed systems (microservices) in the cloud, programming in statically typed languages (Golang, TypeScript, or Java), and managing infrastructure-as-code with Terraform.
- Collaborative Communication: Ability to unblock others through clear communication, regularly update documentation, and eliminate knowledge silos within the team.
- Systems Thinking: Understand the interactions within the system and the impact of your decisions on its reliability, security, scalability, and availability.
- Impact Driven: Focus on making developers more productive by providing essential tools, streamlining workflows, and removing obstacles.
