Job Overview
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Senior Software Dev Engineer to join our Amazon MQ team. This role involves working with Apache ActiveMQ and RabbitMQ, focusing on the development of open-source message broker systems. You will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and deploying distributed systems and large-scale solutions for a global customer base.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop high-quality, distributed, open-source message broker systems using Erlang.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and open-source project maintainers to influence strategy and roadmap.
- Drive system architecture and spearhead best practices to ensure a quality product.
- Mentor junior engineers and lead code reviews to foster skill development and ensure coding standards.
- Engage in the full software development lifecycle, emphasizing reliable and scalable solutions.

Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional software development experience.
- Extensive experience with Erlang and familiarity with RabbitMQ or Apache ActiveMQ.
- Proven track record in leading design and architecture of complex systems.
- Experience in mentoring and leading engineering teams.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field is preferred.
