Job Overview
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Software Development Engineer II to join our AWS Security team. This role is pivotal in inventing and building new security services at a massive scale. As a Software Development Engineer, you will be tasked with the design and implementation of services that provide ambitious availability, scalability, and latency guarantees. This is a highly visible role across AWS, offering the opportunity to have a significant impact.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement distributed systems at AWS scale.
- Ensure high availability, scalability, and low latency of the services.
- Work collaboratively in an agile team environment to deliver high-quality software solutions.
- Engage in code reviews, maintain coding standards, and participate in the software development lifecycle.
- Communicate effectively with team members and other stakeholders to ensure alignment and effective delivery of projects.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- 2+ years of experience in design or architecture of new and existing systems.
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of full software development lifecycle experience including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
