About the Role
As a Senior Software Development Engineer at Expedia Group, you will be part of the Strategic Partnerships and Affiliates Team, tasked with building a next-generation, scalable B2B partnership platform. This platform aims to empower hundreds of thousands of demand partners, from large businesses to small bloggers and micro-influencers, helping them recommend Expedia Group brands and grow their businesses.
What You’ll Do
- Collaborate with peers, leaders, and partners across functions to devise technology solutions to business challenges.
- Lead a community of engineers and strengthen the team.
- Own the end-to-end product lifecycle for large-scale projects: design, development, testing, deployment, and operational support.
- Advocate for industry standards in development methodologies and technologies.
- Share domain and industry knowledge across multi-functional teams.
- Mentor and coach junior team members.
- Promote operational excellence by advocating for best practices like unit testing and programming for resiliency and scalability.
Who You Are
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 10+ years of experience in software development roles.
- Expertise in full-stack engineering, particularly with Java, Kotlin, or similar languages.
- Proficiency in front-end technologies such as ReactJS, NodeJS, AngularJS.
- Experience with GraphQL or similar strongly typed languages.
- Strong understanding of cloud services.
- In-depth knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming, Data Structures, and Algorithms.
- Experience leading cross-functional, large-scale projects.
- Effective communication skills, capable of presenting complex technical information clearly.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development practices and version control tools like Git.
