The Team
The Serverless team at Datadog is dedicated to expanding our capabilities to support Functions-as-a-Service products like AWS Lambda, and other emerging products from our partners. We focus on high-scale distributed systems to collect data in real-time, and develop compelling, usable UIs that enable our customers to understand their serverless applications comprehensively.
The Opportunity
Serverless computing represents a new programming paradigm in the cloud. Monitoring these applications presents unique challenges due to their highly-distributed nature and the lack of access to underlying infrastructure. As a Senior Software Engineer on the Serverless team, you will help set the industry standard for serverless monitoring tools, collaborating with teams across Datadog on metrics, distributed tracing, and logs analytics.
You Are
You have significant experience in one or more programming languages and value code simplicity and performance. You can design architecture to solve problems at high scale. You have a BS/MS/PhD in a scientific field or equivalent experience and thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment that respects its engineers and customers.
Bonus Points
Experience at high scale with systems like Redis, Cassandra, or Kafka. Experience building and monitoring a serverless application, or working on widely-used software libraries. Significant experience with Python, Go, or Java is highly valued.
