Job Overview

Luzia, the fastest growing AI company in Europe, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Python) to join our founding engineering team. This role is pivotal in transforming our conversational capabilities to unparalleled standards using state-of-the-art large language models (LLMs) and alignment techniques. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will lead the design, development, and deployment of backend services with a focus on scalability, efficiency, and robustness.

Responsibilities

• Lead Backend Development: Design, develop, and deploy backend services, ensuring scalability, efficiency, and robustness, particularly in applications involving LLMs.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into technical specifications, ensuring solutions meet both performance and business objectives.
• API Development: Develop APIs and manage inter-service communications that underpin our AI-driven products.
• Code Quality and System Reliability: Uphold high standards for code quality and system reliability by implementing best practices in continuous integration, testing, and deployment.
• Mentorship: Mentor junior developers, promoting a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement across the team.
• System Analysis and Improvement: Analyze and improve the efficiency, scalability, and stability of various systems.
• System Design and Architecture: Engage in system design and architecture discussions, influence product roadmap and project planning.

Requirements

• Experience: 5+ years of experience in Python. Other languages are a plus.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field.
• AI/ML Expertise: Strong interest and proven experience in AI, with a deep understanding of LLMs and other AI/ML technologies.
• Cloud and Data Ecosystems: Experience with cloud environments, modern databases, and data ecosystems.
• Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, with fluency in English and Spanish.
• Proactive and Self-motivating: Strong prioritization skills and ability to work autonomously.
• Technical to Business Translation: Demonstrated ability to translate complex technical concepts into business-oriented language.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with high-performance computing and optimizations.
• Previous leadership experience or strong project management skills.
• B2C experience, working with large databases of user information.
• Experience in AI products or companies.
