Job Description
Amazon Time & Pay Innovation organization is seeking a talented Software Development Engineer to join our team in Dublin. This role involves working in a green field environment to build large-scale intelligent products and services that offer a consumer-grade user experience using a service-oriented architecture based on native AWS components.
Key Responsibilities
- Architecture and Design: Take the lead in identifying and solving ambiguous problems, heavily influencing the architecture and design, and writing a significant portion of the “critical-path” code.
- Problem Solving: Solve problems at Amazon scale, using highly scalable AWS technologies such as Lambda, Fargate, EMR, DynamoDB, S3, Kinesis, ECS, and more.
- Agile Development: Contribute to all aspects of an agile software development lifecycle including design, architecture, development, documentation, testing, and operations.
- Leadership: Prioritize well, communicate clearly, and have a consistent track record of delivering large-scale solutions.
- Mentorship: Coach and mentor junior engineers on the team.
A Day in the Life
- Design, implement, and test software solutions using native AWS technologies.
- Collaborate with product managers and customers to manage requirements for new features and updates to existing systems.
- Partner with internal customers to translate complex business logic into reusable and scalable code.
- Provide on-call support periodically.
- Work with some of the most talented and dedicated team members you can find.
Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience of new and existing systems.
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
