Job Description

Plaid is seeking an Experienced Software Engineer to join our Europe team, operating as a start-up within Plaid, dedicated to creating Europe-specific products that will expand Plaid’s global footprint. Our mission is to develop groundbreaking Europe-specific payment and credit products that will revolutionize the financial landscape. Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to develop and improve Europe-specific payments and credit products.
• Build frameworks and tooling to ensure Plaid has the most resilient and highest-performing integrations with European banks.
• Work with engineering and product teams across Plaid to localize new and existing global Plaid products for the European market.
• Partner with other teams across Plaid, working closely with other engineering teams as well as Product, Design, Data Science, and more to iterate on and productionize new products and improve existing products.
• Deeply understand client needs and architect solutions tailored to their use cases.
• Own and lead projects, step up as a trusted member of the team’s on-call rotation, advocate for technical and process changes, mentor more junior engineers, and follow best practices to increase overall system reliability.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a product engineer working full-stack (backend-leaning).
• Excellent coding and testing skills.
• Experience working with large scale backend systems.
• Experience as a project lead, working with other engineers, and other functions (product, design, data science) to drive execution.
• [Nice to have] Experience working on payments products or in the payments space.
• [Nice to have] Experience working with Open Banking APIs.
