Your Opportunity

Join Charles Schwab as an Associate Software Development Engineer, where you will be part of the NERD (New Employee Recruitment and Development) program. This nine-month program combines on-the-job experience with extensive training in tools, technologies, processes, and soft skills necessary for success in Schwab Technology Services. You will be well-prepared to succeed in your role and set the stage for future opportunities at Schwab.

What You’ll Do

As a member of the NERD program, you will work on a small team to build the next generation of Schwab technology capabilities. You will be fully involved in the Software Development Lifecycle, from receiving and evaluating feature requests to identifying the best solutions, coding, testing, and deploying changes. While coding is a significant part of your role, you will also engage in technology planning to better equip Schwab’s clients to own their financial future. We are hiring for front-end, back-end, and full-stack positions across Schwab Technology Services.

What You Have

• Undergraduate or graduate degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related discipline
• Workforce training certifications through coding bootcamps
• Ability to start full-time employment starting January 2025
• Knowledge of software development practices and processes
• Familiarity with algorithm design and data structures
• Experience with Java, .NET, C#, HTML/CSS/JavaScript, SQL, NoSQL, or Angular
• Familiarity with RESTful web services and/or Cloud APIs is a plus
• UX, Web development, or mobile development experience is a plus
• Database modeling experience is a plus
• Inventiveness and eagerness to work with experimental technology
• Demonstrated leadership potential
• Passion and interest in solving problems with innovation and experimentation
