The Hartford is seeking recent college graduates to join our Tech, Data, Analytics, and Cyber organization as Associate Software Engineers. This role is part of our Tech Catalyst Program, designed to build your career in software engineering by providing development support for The Hartford’s critical applications and assets.
About the Role
As an Associate Software Engineer, you will:
- Participate in immersive instructor-led training focused on software engineering, web development, cloud computing, continuous delivery, and agility.
- Collaborate with various parts of the organization to gain a comprehensive understanding of our business, processes, and customers.
- Develop and utilize end-to-end software solutions to create quality applications that support our business objectives.
- Build a network of associates to help grow your career and develop your talents.
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize platforms such as Angular, React, Java, and .NET, along with cloud technologies, to develop applications that align with organizational goals.
- Apply disciplined software engineering practices to develop or modify software application modules.
- Engage in work guided by more senior team members, contributing to the entire software development lifecycle.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree expected by May 2025, with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Desired majors include Computer Science, Engineering, IT, Management Information Systems, or Applied Mathematics.
- Prior programming experience in college or group settings is preferred.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as CSS, HTML, JavaScript, Java, SQL, .NET, or Python.
- Strong technical, analytical, and communication skills to solve problems and create technical solutions.
