We are excited to invite talented individuals to join our Engineering team at Valstro. Our mission is to develop a manageable, scalable, and cost-efficient service that fully embraces modern software development tools and methods. If you are passionate about building enterprise-level software and have experience with microservices and containerized solutions, we want to hear from you.
What You Will Be Doing
- Building Applications/Services from Scratch: You will be involved in the entire lifecycle of software development, from architecture and technology selection to design, testing, deployment, and support.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other Valstro teams, including Product Management, to define and improve processes and tools.
- Learning and Teaching: Mentor and coach new hires, stay updated with the latest technologies, and share your experiences with the team.
What You Need to Bring
We are looking for candidates with a good portion of the following qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related engineering discipline.
- Real-world experience developing production systems using a major language (C++, Java, .NET, TypeScript, etc.) and popular frameworks/libraries.
- Experience building multi-threaded/concurrent applications.
- Proficiency in a Linux environment (CentOS, RHEL, Ubuntu, etc.).
- Hands-on experience with containerized environments using Docker, Kubernetes, or similar technologies.
- Practical use of NoSQL databases (Redis, Couchbase, Dynamo, Cassandra, etc.).
- Experience working with messaging queues (Kafka, JMS, RabbitMQ, EventHub, etc.).
- Some exposure to React, Angular, and other UI technologies.
Our Work Environment
Valstro was founded during the COVID-19 pandemic and has operated on a "remote-first" basis. However, as the world returns to normal, we recognize the value of in-person collaboration for certain types of work. We have recently moved into a physical office in Midtown NYC, supporting our transition from fully remote work to a hybrid arrangement.
