Job Overview
As a Data Scientist in the HR department, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Automation agenda of European Business Services (EBS) at Ahold Delhaize. Your primary responsibility will be to automate standard financial reporting into dashboarding, utilizing your expertise in data models within Databricks and/or Power BI. Additionally, you will analyze business processes to provide insights through data analytics.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Analytics & Visualization: Use advanced analytical techniques to drive deeper, actionable, and relevant insights. Enable self-service analytics through the creation and deployment of actionable reports and dashboards.
- Digital Integration: Identify, deliver, and apply smart ways of working to automate data flows and improve finance operations.
- Data Strategy & Management: Build and deploy data models according to the data governance framework and ensure data quality.
- Process Improvement: Set up robust and efficient financial reporting processes.

You will be part of the reporting & analytics pillar of Digital Services, which is a part of the broader EBS Finance group. This shared services organization is dedicated to helping Ahold Delhaize’s European brands achieve their strategic goals. Requirements
- A relevant bachelor or university degree in a related field.
- At least 2-5 years of relevant working experience in large corporate and global organizations, preferably in retail.
- Knowledge of Power BI and/or Databricks (Spark).
- Proficiency with limited sets of structured/unstructured data.
- A self-starter who delivers high-quality work and can adapt to new challenges.
- Excellent Dutch and English communication skills (verbal and written).

- Team-up across boundaries (functions, brands, and geographies).
