About the Role

Are you passionate about data and commerce? Do you want to work at the heart of the largest retail organization in the Netherlands? Then a data analyst internship at Sourcing Intelligence is perfect for you!

This is a hands-on internship in the commercial heart of Albert Heijn, specifically within the Sourcing (procurement) department. You will be part of the Sourcing Intelligence team, where data and business analysts work together. Here, you will learn all the ins and outs of procuring well-known A-brand and private label products and contribute to making data-driven decisions. You will support the Albert Heijn team and our international procurement organization in various projects and negotiations to improve purchasing strategies. There is ample room for personal input and training in both the commercial and data fields.

Key Responsibilities

• Translate data into actionable insights to support Sourcing Managers in purchasing the best products at the best prices.
• Collaborate with buyers and optimize and develop tools, models, and/or reports to monitor relevant internal and external developments.
• Learn about key raw materials, including prices and market developments.
• Develop dashboards and participate in integral projects within Commerce.
• Bring and develop new ideas in data and analysis to further assist our procurement organization.
• Optionally, join negotiations if interested.

You will work 32-40 hours per week, partly from our headquarters in Zaandam and partly from home. What You Bring

• Currently pursuing an analytical or commercial HBO or WO degree in Economics, Data, or Tech.
• Affinity with retail/data.
• Analytical skills and experience.
• Knowledge of dashboarding and/or programming is a plus: e.g., PowerBI / Python / SQL.
• Experience with Microsoft Office.
• Strong communication skills.
• Independent and proactive.
• Ability to explain complex information to a non-technical audience.
• Team player.
• Flexibility in tasks, as no day is the same in this department.
