Job Overview
SafetyKit is seeking a Founding AI Backend Engineer to join our team in San Francisco. This role is crucial for developing and deploying backend solutions that leverage AI technologies to automate risk and compliance reviews, previously done manually. Our mission is to enhance the efficiency, accuracy, and coverage of risk teams without expanding headcount.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain web scrapers, document ingestors, and LLM evaluation tools.
- Experiment with and deploy AI technologies, including new open-source vision models.
- Ensure all backend systems are fast, reliable, and scalable.
Your Skills
- Proficiency in TypeScript and experience with Postgres and SQL.
- Familiarity with AWS services like Lambda and Step Functions.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment and contribute to all phases of the development lifecycle.
Bonus Points
- Experience as an early or founding engineer in a startup.
- Knowledge of language models and vision models.
This role requires a creative and careful thinker who is excited about breaking new ground and inventing solutions. The position is based in our San Francisco office, where you will work onsite five days a week.
