Job Overview
SafetyKit is seeking a Founding AI Backend Engineer to join our team in San Francisco. This role is crucial for developing and deploying backend solutions that leverage AI to automate repetitive risk and compliance reviews, previously handled manually by teams at companies like Stripe and Airbnb.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain web scrapers, document ingestors, and LLM evaluation tools.
- Experiment with and deploy AI technologies, including new open-source vision models.
- Ensure all backend systems are fast, reliable, and scalable.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in TypeScript.
- Experience with Postgres, SQL, and AWS services like Lambda and Step Functions.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience as an early or founding engineer in a startup.
- Familiarity with language models and vision models.
