About the Role
Join Agoda's Data department as a Lead DevOps Engineer for our Data Platform. This role is based in Bangkok, with relocation provided. You will be at the forefront of solving complex challenges within the Hadoop ecosystem, focusing on building user tools and applications for other teams. Our team is responsible for maintaining a world-class data warehouse on Hadoop, providing tools to define data cubes, and syncing high loads of data across systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the team in improving the scalability, stability, accuracy, speed, and efficiency of our existing Data Platform.
- Build, administer, and scale the Data Platform.
- Work with a technology stack that includes S3, Kubernetes, KubeFlow, Spark, SQL, Impala, Scala, Java, Python, and scripting (Bash/Python).
- Collaborate with experienced engineers to automate large-scale data platform management.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
- Over 6 years of experience in Data Platform Administration (e.g., Hadoop, S3, AWS, Google Cloud).
- Extensive experience in Kubernetes Administration.
- Proficiency in Apache Spark performance tuning and debugging.
- Strong understanding of JVM and proficiency in either Java or Scala.
- Experience with WorkFlow Schedulers like KubeFlow, AirFlow, or Oozie.
- SQL experience with tools like SparkSql, Impala, BigQuery, Presto/Trino, or StarRocks.
- Strong analytical problem-solving capabilities.
- Systems administration skills in Linux.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with open-source products.
- Python/Shell scripting skills.
- Experience working in an agile environment using test-driven methodologies.
