Join Agoda's Data Platform Team as a Lead DevOps Engineer
Agoda is seeking a highly skilled Lead DevOps Engineer to join our Data Platform team in Bangkok. This role is pivotal in enhancing the scalability, stability, and efficiency of our data platform, which supports one of the world's largest online travel platforms.
About the Role
As a Lead DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for leading a team of engineers to improve and scale our data platform. You will work with cutting-edge technologies and tools to build, administer, and scale our data infrastructure. Your role will involve collaborating with experienced engineers to automate large-scale data platform management and ensure the platform's performance and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the technical improvement of our data platform's scalability, stability, accuracy, speed, and efficiency.
- Build, administer, and scale the data platform using technologies such as S3, Kubernetes, KubeFlow, Spark, SQL, Impala, Scala, Java, and Python.
- Collaborate with engineers to identify and build tools for automating data platform management.
- Navigate and manage a technology stack that includes S3, Kubernetes, KubeFlow, Spark, SQL, Impala, Scala, Java, Python, and scripting languages like Bash.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
- Over 6 years of experience in Data Platform Administration, including Hadoop, S3, AWS, Google Cloud, etc.
- Extensive experience in Kubernetes Administration.
- Proficiency in Apache Spark performance tuning and debugging.
- Strong understanding of JVM and experience with Java or Scala.
- Experience with workflow schedulers like KubeFlow, AirFlow, or Oozie.
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with SparkSQL, Impala, BigQuery, Presto/Trino, or StarRocks.
- Strong analytical problem-solving skills and experience in systems administration on Linux.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with open-source products.
- Python/Shell scripting skills.
- Experience working in an agile environment using test-driven methodologies.
