Agoda is seeking a highly skilled Lead DevOps Engineer to join our Data Platform team in Bangkok. This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about data and technology, and who thrives in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
About the Role
As a Lead DevOps Engineer, you will be at the forefront of our data platform initiatives, leading a team to enhance the scalability, stability, and efficiency of our systems. You will work with cutting-edge technologies to build, administer, and scale our data platform, ensuring it meets the needs of our business and customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Leadership: Lead the team in improving the scalability, stability, accuracy, speed, and efficiency of our existing data platform.
- Platform Management: Build, administer, and scale the data platform using technologies such as S3, Kubernetes, KubeFlow, Spark, SQL, Impala, Scala, Java, and Python.
- Automation: Work with experienced engineers to identify and build tools to automate large-scale data platform management.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: 6+ years in data platform administration (e.g., Hadoop, S3, AWS, Google Cloud) and Kubernetes administration.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Apache Spark performance tuning and debugging, JVM, Java or Scala, and SQL (e.g., SparkSQL, Impala, BigQuery).
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical problem-solving capabilities and experience in systems administration on Linux.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with open-source products and Python/Shell scripting.
- Experience working in an agile environment using test-driven methodologies.
