Agoda is seeking a highly skilled Lead DevOps Engineer to join our Data Platform team in Bangkok. This role is pivotal in enhancing the scalability, stability, and efficiency of our data platform, which supports one of the world's largest online travel platforms.

About the Role

As a Lead DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for leading a team of engineers to improve and scale our data platform. You will work with cutting-edge technologies such as Kubernetes, Apache Spark, and Hadoop to build and administer a world-class data warehouse. Your role will involve:

Leading the technical team to enhance the scalability, stability, accuracy, speed, and efficiency of our existing data platform.
Building, administering, and scaling the data platform using technologies like S3, Kubernetes, KubeFlow, Spark, SQL, Impala, Scala, Java, and Python.
Collaborating with experienced engineers to automate large-scale data platform management.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the team technically in improving the data platform's performance.
Build and scale the data platform infrastructure.
Navigate and utilize a technology stack that includes S3, Kubernetes, KubeFlow, Spark, SQL, Impala, Scala, Java, Python, and scripting (Bash/Python).
Work with engineers to develop tools for automating data platform management.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
6+ years of experience in Data Platform Administration (e.g., Hadoop, S3, AWS, Google Cloud).
6+ years of experience in Kubernetes Administration.
Proficiency in Apache Spark performance tuning and debugging.
Strong understanding of JVM and experience with Java or Scala.
Experience with WorkFlow Schedulers like KubeFlow, AirFlow, or Oozie.
SQL experience with tools like SparkSql, Impala, BigQuery, Presto/Trino, or StarRocks.
Analytical problem-solving skills and experience.
Systems administration skills in Linux.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with open-source products.
Python/Shell scripting skills.
Experience working in an agile environment using test-driven methodologies.
