Join Agoda as a Lead DevOps Engineer – Data Platform
Agoda is seeking a highly skilled Lead DevOps Engineer to join our Data Platform team in Bangkok. This role is pivotal in enhancing the scalability, stability, and efficiency of our data platform, which is integral to our operations and customer experience.
About the Role
As a Lead DevOps Engineer, you will:
- Lead the Team: Provide technical leadership to improve the scalability, stability, accuracy, speed, and efficiency of our existing Data Platform.
- Build and Scale: Administer and scale our Data Platform using cutting-edge technologies.
- Technology Stack: Work with technologies such as S3, Kubernetes, KubeFlow, Spark, SQL, Impala, Scala, Java, Python, and scripting (Bash/Python).
- Automation: Collaborate with experienced engineers to identify and build tools to automate large-scale data platform management.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: Over 6 years of experience in Data Platform Administration (e.g., Hadoop, S3, AWS, Google Cloud) and Kubernetes Administration.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Apache Spark performance tuning and debugging, understanding of JVM, and experience with SQL (e.g., SparkSql, Impala, BigQuery).
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical problem-solving capabilities and experience in systems administration, particularly in Linux.
Preferred Qualifications
- Open-source Products: Experience working with open-source products.
- Scripting Skills: Proficiency in Python/Shell scripting.
- Agile Environment: Experience working in an agile environment using test-driven methodologies.
