Join Agoda's Data Platform Team as a Lead DevOps Engineer
Agoda is seeking a highly skilled Lead DevOps Engineer to join our Data Platform team in Bangkok. This role is pivotal in enhancing the scalability, stability, and efficiency of our data platform, which supports one of the world's largest online travel platforms.
About the Role
As a Lead DevOps Engineer, you will:
- Lead the Team: Provide technical leadership to improve the scalability, stability, accuracy, speed, and efficiency of our existing Data Platform.
- Build and Scale: Administer and scale our Data Platform using cutting-edge technologies.
- Technology Stack: Work with a diverse technology stack including S3, Kubernetes, KubeFlow, Spark, SQL, Impala, Scala, Java, Python, and scripting languages like Bash.
- Automation: Collaborate with experienced engineers to identify and build tools to automate large-scale data platform management.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: Over 6 years of experience in Data Platform Administration (e.g., Hadoop, S3, AWS, Google Cloud) and Kubernetes Administration.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Apache Spark performance tuning and debugging, understanding of JVM, and experience with SQL technologies such as SparkSQL, Impala, BigQuery, Presto/Trino, and StarRocks.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical problem-solving capabilities and experience in systems administration, particularly in Linux.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with open-source products.
- Python/Shell scripting skills.
- Experience working in an agile environment using test-driven methodologies.
