About the Role
As a Lead Data Engineer in the Hadoop Applications team, you will tackle some of the most challenging problems in the Hadoop ecosystem. You will focus on building user tools and applications for other teams, leveraging technologies like Apache Spark and Yarn. Your role will be crucial in driving a world-class data warehouse on top of Hadoop, providing tools to define data cubes and syncing high loads of data across systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the team in enhancing the scalability, stability, accuracy, speed, and efficiency of our existing Data Platform.
- Build, administer, and scale the Data Platform using technologies such as S3, Kubernetes, KubeFlow, Spark, SQL, Impala, Scala, Java, and Python.
- Collaborate with experienced engineers to automate large-scale data platform management.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
- Over 6 years of experience in Data Platform Administration, including Hadoop, S3, AWS, and Google Cloud.
- Extensive experience in Kubernetes Administration in non-cloud platforms.
- Proficiency in Apache Spark performance tuning and debugging.
- Strong understanding of JVM and experience with Java or Scala.
- Experience with WorkFlow Schedulers like KubeFlow, AirFlow, or Oozie.
- SQL experience with tools like SparkSql, Impala, BigQuery, Presto/Trino, or StarRocks.
- Analytical problem-solving skills and experience in systems administration on Linux.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with open-source products.
- Python/Shell scripting skills.
- Experience working in an agile environment using test-driven methodologies.
