Join Agoda's Data Platform Team as a Lead DevOps Engineer
Agoda is seeking a highly skilled Lead DevOps Engineer to join our Data Platform team in Bangkok. This role is pivotal in enhancing the scalability, stability, and efficiency of our data platform, which supports one of the world's largest online travel platforms.
About the Role
As a Lead DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for leading a team of engineers to improve and maintain our data platform. You will work with cutting-edge technologies to build, administer, and scale our data infrastructure. Your expertise will help us provide faster and more reliable data services to our business users and customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the technical team in enhancing the scalability, stability, accuracy, speed, and efficiency of our existing data platform.
- Build, administer, and scale the data platform using technologies such as S3, Kubernetes, KubeFlow, Spark, SQL, Impala, Scala, Java, and Python.
- Collaborate with experienced engineers to develop tools that automate large-scale data platform management.
- Navigate and optimize our technology stack, including S3, Kubernetes, KubeFlow, Spark, SQL, Impala, Scala, Java, and Python.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
- Over 6 years of experience in data platform administration, including Hadoop, S3, AWS, and Google Cloud.
- Extensive experience in Kubernetes administration.
- Proficiency in Apache Spark performance tuning and debugging.
- Strong understanding of JVM and experience with Java or Scala.
- Experience with workflow schedulers such as KubeFlow, AirFlow, or Oozie.
- SQL experience with tools like SparkSQL, Impala, BigQuery, Presto/Trino, or StarRocks.
- Strong analytical problem-solving skills and experience in systems administration on Linux.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with open-source products.
- Python or Shell scripting skills.
- Experience working in an agile environment using test-driven methodologies.
