About the Role
As a Senior Platform Engineer at Bitvavo, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the scalability, performance, and productivity of our engineering systems. Our platform domain is dedicated to fostering autonomy by providing engineering teams with the tools and paths needed to develop robust, secure, compliant, and scalable systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Empower Teams: Work closely with engineering teams to build scalable systems that meet strict requirements for latency, availability, and throughput.
- Collaboration: Partner with engineering teams to understand their challenges and develop solutions that address their needs.
- Ownership: Enable teams to fully own their systems by providing capabilities for seamless deployment and application monitoring.
- Infrastructure as Code: Use tools like Terraform to build reproducible systems that are consistent across multiple environments.
- Support and Growth: Provide constructive feedback, guidance, and share knowledge to help your teammates grow.
Success Factors
- Programming Languages: Experience with one or more programming languages, particularly Python, Kotlin, and Go.
- Distributed Systems: Strong understanding of distributed systems, systems engineering, and networking fundamentals.
- Cloud Environment: Proficiency in container orchestration within a cloud-first environment, using Kubernetes.
- Communication: Exceptional communication skills to engage with various stakeholders and facilitate decision-making processes.
- Ownership: A strong sense of ownership and accountability in your work.
