As a Principal Engineer at Kicklox, you will play a pivotal role in technical contributions that drive the growth of Deriv. You will develop sustainable software solutions, tackle the most complex technical problems, lead architectural design, and perform system-level integration in line with our exponential growth. You will also create roadmaps and strategies to set the technical direction for key components and services, working hands-on to integrate them into our systems. You will establish strong coding standards, maintain technical design documents, and develop operational concepts and interfaces. Additionally, you will address scaling and performance issues with innovative architectural changes and assist executives in making informed decisions about business objectives by providing engineering expertise.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain robust software solutions.
- Lead the design and architectural efforts for complex systems.
- Create and implement technical roadmaps and strategies.
- Maintain high standards for coding and documentation.
- Resolve scaling and performance issues through architectural improvements.
- Provide engineering insights to support executive decision-making.
Qualifications
- University degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Over 15 years of experience in software development.
- Proficiency in multiple programming languages including Go, C++, JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Experience with modern front-end frameworks like React and Flutter.
- Familiarity with microservices architectures and building scalable systems.
- Extensive cloud technology experience, including AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform.
- Deep knowledge of databases such as PostgreSQL and MySQL.
- Strong software development skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
- Experience in the fintech sector.
- Ability to work across multiple sites and time zones.
